You should turn this into a coffee table book and market it on the streets of seoul! Im sure lots of koreans would love to own one as sort of a family photo album!

There's one thing a lot of these protests have in common: They're violent.

Korea needs more peace. Ther's been enough violence in this country for God's sake.

I grew up watching tv news footage of various riots in South Korea since 1980. I used to think (wrongly) that student protestors were misguided, crazy, & that throwing rocks & molatov c0cktails at the army was a national 'sport'. My views changed after attending University. These students were heros, with the courage of their convictions, unlike a lot of armchair critics today. They did not want South Korea to go the same way as North Korea, & slide into a permanent military dictatorship. Do a quick check on the various South Korean Presidents since 1980, & their abuse of the democratic process, if you're unconvinced. I just got back from Gwangju, ground zero of the 1980 riot, in which hundreds (if not thousands) of students were massacred by the army.

The article linked to discusses the quirky & more unusual contemporary protests. Yes, a live piglet being killed is not pleasant, but far less horrific than the murder of hundreds of students by overzealous police & army.
