I've been using Nero for a good number of years. It seems Nero has just gotten really bulky with features I'm never going to use.

I use PowerISO and DVDDecrytper for burning images.

I don't mind using NERO, but I'm looking for something thats a little more lightweight. I just want something to burn Data CD/DVD's and music CD/DVD's.

Anyone got any good suggestions?

I'm a little hesitant to use the burning that comes with windows. Mainly, I've heard of issues of "finalizing" a CD/DVD with windows.

This was the main reason why I haven't upgraded Nero since version 5.5.

I'd say if Nero is working well for you, then, just stick to it. I do agree it's full of semi-useless, or just plain useless, features nowadays. I have no trouble just ignoring all that stuff. Just stick to the 2 or 3 features that I always use.

No other burner has been as reliable for me as Nero.

Agreed. Burning Studio 7 is small, fast, and easy to use. Nero is slow and bloated.

Nero has been good to me for a while too. I hate the smartstart and all the other useless crap that is in Nero now. I checkout out Ashampoo Burining suite. Seems like it does everything Nero does at 1/20th the file size.

If you're a member of demonoid, a 'lite' version of Nero is offered. It does what you want without the extra bullsht.
