Many camps you have to organize your kids to either perform a short play, long skit, or sing a song or two.
What are some of your better ones? |

I let the students choose it, write it, and make all the props, and I help them by editing their play and feeding and adding new ideas.
Lots of fun ones:
- Romeo and Juliet meet at Hi-Mart, The Musical
- Snow White and Seven Dwarfs set in modern Korea
- and the best one I did, over a month long period, was a pretend cooking show with some comedy added.
Fun stuff. I love using drama in the classroom. |

I've usually had that experience.
This time it is the opposite...and looks like I'll be writing and choreographing everything So I hope I can come up with some quick ideas! |

That sucks...sounds like they want a production rather than a learning experience.
If I were you, I'd go look for a professional play on the internet or bookstore and just follow that.
How old are the kids and what level are they?
I'll look to see if I have a copy of any of the plays I've used kicking around. If I do, I'll PM you. |

Tiger...
I don't have the links but a internet search for camp skits should bring up some sites for summer camp activities. I found a site last year and used the skits on that site to great success. I will try to find the link and post it.
Found it....
For some reason my computer won't let me cut and paste...but the site name is ultimatecampresource.com |

Scott in Incheon - Thanks for the link! - ultimatecampresource.com
Bosingtang - Thanks for the offer on plays that you've done.
I just went to Bandi's Books at Co-Ex Mall.. came across a series of books with CDs called 'READY, ACTION!'. Found a number of books with scripts and sound effects from a CD. Chose the Snow White and Three Billy Goats.
Hope one of these works for them! I'll find out tomorrow when I spring one of them on the students! They are setup quite well, and highly recommend them if anyone else has been caught in a similar situation as me (with a group of students that just isn't coming up with ideas on their own). Maybe I'll give an update on it by the end of the week when we have to present the small play/skit in front of the camp. |

Oops, I'm a little late....
I used aaronshep.com "Readers Theatre" scripts online. The scripts are a bit challenging for some students, but also very easily adaptable. The real plus is that the stories are entertaining and have MANY parts! |

Thanks for the input. I'm going to look into that as well.
I like the MANY parts part. I have something, but always better to widen the base of possibilities for reference as well. |

I just finished a drama day for my summer camp. It bombed !
The kids didnt want to act at all. They didnt even want ot stand up in front of the class to read their plays.
THe kids brought in a total of 3 props.
I wouldnt put too much effort into it. |
