According to a blurb on the Yahoo site, Rowling was going to kill Harry Potter to keep any other writer from writing sequels.
She might kill Voldemort for the same reason.
Otherwise someone might write a sequel about Ron and Hermione killing Voldemort.
I have been waiting to see if she has Harry kill Voldemort unintentionally,
like Dorothy killed the two Wicked Witches. |

While that might provide a deservedly humiliating demise for Lord V, nothing in the series thus far supports an ending like that. |

And based on Dumbledore's unwaivering belief that Snape had not turned, it could be that Snape was -- perhaps told to do so, by Dumbledore -- protecting Malfoy from becoming a murderer by committing the act himself. |
very astute.
I liked this book better than book 6. Enought to deprive myself of sleep even more, staying up until 1:30 a.m. |

| SO it's been a week are we going to discuss now, openly, about our thoughts on the book other than very basic thoughts? Or not?? |

Well, I thought it was well done. I just finished it last night. |

You must be a fast reader, then.
Are you sure you don't want to change your moniker? |

No, I'm not really a fast reader, but I had an ample amount of time to read it.
As I said, it was pretty good.

I personally believe this to be the worst in the series.
Everything moved slow (the story wasn't advancing at all)
Until the chapter where you have the confrontation, then everything seems to be happening.
And the Epilogue? What was that all about? |

How did you get your copies so fast?
I ordered mine from Amazon.
I got a note saying it has been sent, but it hasn't gotten here yet. |

| Pre-ordered mine from Yes24 (a Korean online mall) and had it by noon on Saturday July 21st, the day the book came out. Finished it by the 22nd and loved it. While I agree that a bit too much time went by with very little happening if anything at all I think the purpose of that down time was to allow everything to really set up for the ending. Loved the ending but the epilogue I have mixed feelings about. I liked it in that it showed everyone had moved on but we never got to see what any of them made of themselves which was disappointing. |

| I picked mine up at What The Book Friday at midnight and finished it Sunday. I was also disappointed the epilogue didn't answer more questions, but now that JKR has started answering them all in interviews I'm fine with it. I thought it started out really intense, then backed off to a slower pace. I think it was necessary because the search couldn't be too easy, she had to show that Harry really didn't know what he was doing. I personally thought the book was great, and after I read it again I might decide it's my favorite. |
