I just bought some; it's literally half the price of all other beef! Shocked I bought two packs to 'test' it out. Have any of you eaten it yet? Any differences (e.g. texture, too much fat, etc.)?

Yeah! I've been asking for it at my E-Mart (Yongsan) for weeks, and last night they finally said yes and pointed me in the right direction.

I had to cut out a lot of fat, but then maybe I just picked the wrong cut of beef. Tastes good though, and I'll be looking for inch thick steaks next time I'm there.

Interested in hearing from others on the quality too.

I would guess that the beef they send here is different from the beef they sell in the US.

I would imagine that you can get some of the good stuff at Costco. Even in the States it is my favorite place to go for beef. Great rib-eye steaks at Costco!!!

I didn't see US beef at Costco when I was there a couple of weeks ago...only Korean and Australian.

Yeah, the U.S. is only sending special diseased kind of beef to Korea. We're trying to turn all Koreans to into bunch of mad cows.

I got some from E-Mart and it was just awesome. It didn't have that kimchi smell and taste to it.

I wouldn't complain about fatty beef. That just means it will still be juicy after you cook it. You might want to trim off the fat if you like rare beef but, I like well-done, so a fair bit of fat is desirable.

mmmmmm......juicy........... Laughing

It's all down to preference.

My Dad ran a butchers shop for 40 years. Some time around the late 80's he noticed that people were starting to ask him to trim all the fat off their cuts. Then they would come back another time and comment that it was a bit tough. Their own fault.

Of course, if you watch any of those TV chefs, you'll notice that they like to cook meat which is marbled with fat throughout the cut. That's the best kind of meat. I agree that a big thick rind of fat on one side of a steak is a bit unappealing.

Fatty beef is good.

Asians love fatty meats. Americans with their diet culture tend to go for leaner cuts.

This seems odd to me, given the general heft of the American populace...
