I got this weird job offer in my email...it's for a public school position and then a christian private school! The hours are like this 9-12 public 2-8 private. Pay is 2.6 and in Gangnam. I like the location but I've already signed with someone else. This offer does not look legal to me...is it?? working at both private and public school??
And the guy that emailed me said they are only looking to hire christians...and will only hire christians...I wonder how they will "prove" that I'm a christian |

I don't see why it couldn't be legal, as long as both schools were on your E2 and immigration consented. |

9 hours a day. Closer to 11 or 12 with prep and transportation time.
Why do you want that? |

If your primary employer (Likely the private school) is willing to allow you a second job, and immigration consents to this, you can work two fixed jobs on an E-2 visa. Privates do not count, as they are not official, not fixed times, and not condoned by your employer.
Basically, you're signing yourself up for guaranteed overtime at a fairly cheap rate. Religious considerations, I don't know the particular laws on in Korea, but suffice it to say that culture outweighs law. They will expect you to act like a Christian, and likely attend services the same way. It's also a great way to guilt people into extra work.
If you are a Christian who is interested in Korean Christian services, particularly that of your employer, and want a heavy work schedule, this is probably a job for you. If not, then it's probably a job for someone else. |

In Korea it has been my experience that they tell you what big christians they are right before they bend you over and **** you up the ***. Be careful. Also, this sounds like more of the "education management" BS that has been going on and is illegal. |

Even for 2.6, working from 9AM to 8PM plus travel and prep time, plus trying to figure out how to please two masters, will be a lot of work. |

Just because they claim to be Christians doesn't mean they will treat you well. |

They might smile up at your crucified body. That'sw about how Christian your relationship will be. |

You can prove to them that you're a *Christian* by smiling, nodding, and accepting whatever you're told as gospel. Then you can do a tirelessly pleasing job two times over until you martyr yourself. All while saving them a little money not hiring someone who wants what the circumstances are worth.
Anyway, these days, 2.6 for any one of those positions and its separate hours is good. Can you get 5.2, you think ? |
