I just arrived home hurriedly to watch the asian final on tv and guess what? Koreans are not showing it. What bad sportman they are. I wonder if they will show the next world cup here if they are eliminated from the start. Reinforces my attitude that they dont deserve to win any cup. |

Dude...what in the HELL are you talking about? I'm watching it right now.
It's on Xports (Ch. 61 in Jeonju) if you have the channel....
23 minutes in and the score is 0:0 |

Indeed.....
Now put your protest banners away, douse the molotov co-cktails you were going to toss at the next Korean you saw, calm down and realise that in Korea, like home, there are regular channels and cable channels..... |

It's actually called commercialism. Any games involving the England team, for example, other than those considered of great national importance, do not have to be shown on terrestial TV in England. |

I was relying on the regular tv channel that has been showing the past several games. Programming must vary by city. It still does not make sense to not show it after showing all the rest. Especially when its the final. Am I wrong? |

It's called the power of channel surfing. With the time it took for you to type your OP, you would have found it on your own....
Iraq just scored....Woohoo....
And yeah you are right but perhaps because it's the final, another channel offered to pay more for the honor of showing it? |

Well done Iraq. Just heard that 3 members of the squad suffered losses in their families due to violence while playing at this tournament!! Just gives you an indication of the level of carnage in that country (though admittedly the squad represents a small sample size from which to draw conclusions).
Im currently visiting a friend in New Zealand and the match was not shown here. Not surprising. Had to watch via the net. |

Kinda makes sense. New Zealand is not part of the Asian federation. |

You are right of course, and thats why I said it was not surprising. I was here couple years ago during the Oceania Nations Cup and they didnt even bother showing all of NZs matches so why cover an Asian tournament?
However, I think NZ is on its way to joining Asia. Already the World Cup path for Oceania winners is going to go via Asia. So assuming they overcome the likes of Fiji and Vanuatu (not as simple as it sounds), NZ will face the 5th placed Asian in the World Cup play-off that will decide the last qualifier. If the Asian Nations Cup is anything to go by, it could be someone like Australia, Iran, China or Uzbekistan. Or South Korea the current generation of players is nothing to shout about and the few that are decent will be past the 30-year mark.
Hopefully in 7-10 years NZ (and the pacific nations) will become part of the AFC. |

You also could've watched it via Daum.net, as I did. |
