Hi There,
I am told everywhere online that I can get a police check from the local Police Station. My town (Kongju) is known for being a bit backward so they wouldn't give me it.
Today they got a translator to explain that they can't give them to Australians only Koreans and that I have to contact an Australian.
What do I do to get across that they can give me this?
I would appreciate any help..the Seoul website told me it could be done too.
The name of the certificate would help too.
Cheers,

That's ridiculous, anyone can get a record check from a Korean police station. All they need is your ARC.
Could you get one of your Korean co-workers or a Korean speaking friend to go back with you?
Anyway, we are in Korea, so there ya go.
How far are you from Seoul?
I applied through the British Embassy in Seoul for mine.
Maybe you could try the Australian Embassy in Seoul and see if they offer a similar service? http://www.southkorea.embassy.gov.au/seol/home.html
