I'm not a fan of everything the ACLU does, and I would hesitate to contribute to it given its greal zeal in making sure small displays of Christmas cheer are completely divorced from religious imagery.

BUT,

The point of this thread is that the GOP has squandered its time in power as far as the young people are concerned. Matters that are truly important to the youth have not been addressed, and the GOP's culture war has bit them in the ass. America's youth does not wish for members of Congress to diagnose sick people from Washington DC, nor do they particularly care about what happens to people who burn flags. They care about the health care crisis in this country, and their daily struggles with earning a stagnant income in an economy where the cost-of-living is rising.

Funny thing is...........Congress has a lower approval rating then President Bush...........and the majority are Democrats.

Where above did I mention President Bush? The fact is, the GOP had 6 full years of full legislative and executive dominance to address some of these issues, and instead it spent a significant amount of its time debating issues with more symbolic, cultural value rather than devoting its time to issues of primary relevence to the youth of America.

Given the poll numbers on how Democrats stand in relation to the Republicans, how do you think that low approval rating in Congress will resolve itself?

My bad...no you did not say anything about president Bush. I think mixed up forum topics.

Even funnier...Congress ALWAYS has a lower approval rating than the president, whoever it is. (Except for very brief periods.)

Funniest of all, the incumbency re-election rate is in the 90% range. "I hate Congress but I'm voting to re-elect my representative and 2 senators."

Really? That may be the first interesting point you have provided thus far............................keep going......seriously, I would like to know more.

and what did we have during 8 of those democrat-led years? balanced budgets, a growing economy, no unprovoked, pointless wars. Man, those young people are stupid.

I respect you Bucheon but you probably know more about more subjects than I do but you are usually more objective than this.

Quote:
balanced budgets

Why is the budget not balanced now? Is it cause of Bush's tax cuts or cause of a recession and 9-11 that Bush didn't have much to do with . Notice that the budget deficit is again shrinking.

Quote:
a growing economy

The economy isn't growing now? In fact growth rates since 2002 have been around the same as they were in the late 90's and for that matter unemployment is more or less the same as when Clinton left office.

How do you account for all that?

Quote:

no unprovoked, pointless wars

What is the difference between Bosnia and Iraq?

Saddam did a lot more to provoke war against the US than Milosovich ever did. And he was a much bigger threat to the US than Milosovich.

PS he was also a far greater killer than Milosovich.

and the middle east was a far greater threat to the US than central Europe.

Do you actually have links to these that don't come from the neo-con propaganda machine? I've been looking these cases up and all I've been finding is spin from the religious right.

And them defending the Westboro Baptist Church? Was that them ruining religion in America by helping the more clownish aspects of it do what they do best?

Sorry, chum. You spout more propaganda than Pravda in it's prime.

Kids aren't stupid.

They know utter failure when they see it.

Well thenk, you are not looking hard enough.

How does this make me a "neo-con". I have not posted my particular beliefs, mind you.

Hey, there's another one! Godd job, but surely you must have a headache by now, straining to come up with all of these classic one liners, eh?

But, lets go back to what I said earlier. Instead of throwing insults, how about contributing to this topic in a constructive way.............unless of course, you can't figure it out............

Poor Ya-ta-boy..........I guess your parents did not show you enough attention, eh?

Well, if you go back...way back...I have posted my own ideas. But, for the sake of discussion, I think it is good to find outside sources, and see what others think...generate a buzz, if you will. Now, if this to much for you, then bug out and go home.

But, you are STILL, and I dont' know why, acting like a *beep*. If this bothers you so much, that you are inspired to throw insults, then change the channel man! Don't let this get to you.....it is unhealthy.

Just trying to help....

That would be untrue.
