Anybody been to Ulreung-do (Ulreung island)? Is it worth the visit as I'm in the area? It's near Dokdo as far as I know. |

I've been thinking about going out there in the fall after Chuseok. Here's a site I think someone posted awhile ago with some information on it:

I think it looks kind of cool. Be nice to get away from all the crowds everywhere else. |

Its actually one of my favorite places in Korea. If you get good weather it is absolutely brilliant... if the weather is bad though the boat ride can be a bit of a doozy. |

Hi,
I think it's definitely worth a visit if you like interesting rock formations and waterfalls. It is beautiful. A bit low on western commodoties if you need them though. I was stuck on the island because of a typhoon and couldn't get back to the mainland. Also be careful of seasickness on the way back - all the Koreans seem to have ear things and tablets to prepare for the sea sickness.
I must say I enjoyed it there.

You can buy the sea sickness tablets right at the dock (or just around it) on either side.... but ill agree with the above- if it is windy the tablets are brilliant.
im not sure what is meant by western commodities exactly....
aside from the natural beauty they have the usual dvd/pc/norae bangs, pizza, fresh seafood, questionable pumpkin taffy, and etc..... so if you get bored of walking (or drinking). |

I love that place. If you like squid, it's mecca. |
