A female teacher is not a potential threat to the school/students IMHO. I'm not in Korea yet, but I'm keenly aware of the issues in question. Some male teachers have posed a sexual threat and I know from a friend working there for years that schools are trying more to guard against such problems.

I couldn't agree with you more. Korean male teachers are pimps who run brothels and pose a threat to female students. They've been indicted numerous times for recruiting young Korean female students into prostitution and recruiting them as drug sellers. You have a valid point.

I think what is going on is just the general preference here for female teachers, particularly for elementary age students. As we all know, there is a lot of stereotyping that goes on here. Women are more nurturing and therefore better teachers. Men are superior in social rank, so less approachable by children.

I'm sure there is a law. Does that mean anyone is going to do anything about it?

There are also laws that say

Prostitution is illegal.
Driving on the sidewalk is illegal.
Parking laws.

If they won't do a thng about those laws, do you really think they'll do something about a whte collar crime?
