Does anybody have experience dealing with FootPrints Recruiting or Teachaway. If so can you offer some insight/experience and if one is better then the other. |

^Ditto, use as many recruiters as you can. See which one finds the best offer for you. I have experiences with both so I will tell you about them.
Footprints-I failed the interview with them. HHAHA they called me when I came back from a case in which the parent's attorney grilled me...it went badly and the parents were granted visitations. This really upset me. I was driving back to work when I was stuck in traffic...my ac wasn't working. It was 90 something degrees..and she called when I was in the car. I was so flustered since I thought it was just going to be a simple straightforward interview. It ended up being 30 minutes...and I didn't pass
Teach Away-They are based in Toronto. Called me at the time that we did not agree upon so I was unable to pick up the phone. I emailed them back and didnt get any reply. So I called them myself...but she was really nice. She interviewed me for 20 something minutes. I passed lol...but she offered me a position with EPIK...I had already been accepted into EPIK but she didnt know. She then sent me some emails telling me I need to send her all these documents and stuff. I didn't reply...she didn't follow up. That was the end of that. They did sound very professional though. The interview is also kinda long..so be prepared.
There isn't a recruiting agency that is "THE BEST" so use as much as you can. You'd be surprised who'd find you the best offer. Everyone has their own experiences. Some have had negative experiences with recruiting companies that ppl said were very good and vice versa. I had a great experience with a recruiting agency that not a lot of ppl on this board likes...but hey, so far so good for me |

Consider all options even applying directly on your own. When you go through agencies your appalication has a referral fee that your school has to pay them. You may get a better deal by applying directly on your own and asking the questions you are most concerned about. Keep in mind that Footprints and all these agencies posting jobs here as well as on these forums only make money when teachers like yourself let them place you.
If you are willing to research and apply directly to schools you may be surprised to find better offers then the agencies that want you to go to the location they will receive a fee from.
It can be like asking a sales person at the store which brand and which model you should buy and the sales person may recommend the brand and model he or she will get the biggest commission on.
Look at all the ads posted by indivdual schools, Public, large chains, etc

Footprints was responsible for my Canuck buddy getting fired from his public school job in Busan. You should read the letters they sent to him!!! Talk about mean dudes, bro', from Lotus Land!!! |
