I was told by a U.S. international shipper of goods they don't send shaving foam to Korea because of legal issues, they said because shaving foam is pressurized air it cannot be sent to Korea.

A quick question........if I got my family in the U.K. to send me some shaving foam would there be problems with that, legally, or would it be ok?

Thank you for your advice.

I don't think it's illegal, but chances are the box will never be checked. Just send it. My mother send me cans of insect repellent.

They sell shaving cream here, I buy mine from a cosmetics store called "Olive Young" and I see it in departments stores and I've seen three kinds of American brands in the basement of Dootah building in Dongdaemun. wtf, over?

Nivea and Gilette are both represented here... as well as other brands if you could be bothered to look.

The problem with shipping shaving foam is that it's compressed and that the baggage compartment is not pressurized. The decrease in air pressure on the outside of the can can cause the can to explode. Probably not --- but it can happen if there's a slight defect or something.

Sometimes they make rules for good reason!

Thanks. You're right I am a lazy so and so. I brought some shaving foam with me when I came to Korea in my suitcase.

I am glad it didn't explode, they would probably have called me the suicide-shaving-bomber.

Why do you guys use shaving foam in any case? Just use water and soap, or do the dry shave I say.

Because I'm shaving my head, foam seems to help. I will try the shaving gel at homeplus and see how it goes.

They have insect repellent in Korea too, you know. Don't you? I guess maybe you're mother didn't know.

I'm a bit confused. You can buy shaving cream in any convenience store of which there are 2 on every block in Seoul. So why send it? Ah, maybe you're going to live outside of Seoul. For all I know, they tear their beards out with their fists out there.
