Hey going to China in a few days by slow boat. We arrive in Tianjin and want to take a train to Beijing. Can't figure out how to book tickets online. Do I need to book tickets or are trains usually full around this time of year? If I need to book can someone please share some knowledge... thanks!
Cheers

We want a train from Tianjin to Beijing on the evening of august 4th. Leaving any time after 9pm.

I remember taking a minivan from Tianjin's ferry terminal right to Beijing. The people sit at the ferry piers with the signs advertising for Beijing. It's the most direct and easiest way to do it.

(That was 2001...probably still the same).

I caught a bus to & from Beijing <> Tianjing in May. A good backup if trains are booked out.

I just got back from China. Train tickets are a bitch.
If you can't get them online then see if you can get
a travel agent to get them for you before you leave.
