Does anyone know of any job postings or is interested in hiring or sponsering a visa for a philipino? His english is perfect and he had his degree but as english is not his first language he is having difficulty finding a position. If anyone has any positions available, could help me with this situation or has any suggestions please let me know. Thank you!

There's no possiblity of him getting a job teaching english. Those visas are only available for people from seven countries. Unless he has a special skill in something else (aka business, accounting, or another sector), he's wasting his time looking here. It's hard to get a job here for people how aren't qualified in immigration's eyes to teach English.

There are lots of Filipinos working here. Very few of them legally. He can easily join the ranks. I say good on 'em. They ain't taking no dough outta my pocket working DDD.

In fact, my favorite bartender is a Filipino and that ain't no DDD job.

I met a young woman from the Philippines who was teaching English
in the US. I don't know what her visa situation was though.

Here is a English teacher job in Korea that your friend qualifies for as the employer requires that the teacher(s) be a Filipino citizen.

The advertisement is for two openings in Busan, South Korea. Job also includes return air fare. Interviews will be conducted in Manila in late August. I have cut and pasted the link to the ad as well as the ad itself below.

I found this ad through Google. I recommend you search Google and other ESL job resource websites besides Dave's ESL Cafe to find ESL teaching jobs for Filipinos in South Korea. You might also want to tell your friend to consider looking into Japan and China.

Taylor Limited - Australian owned institution) specializing in English language skills for international employment. (For university level)

We require: - Bachelors degree (or with English as major - licensed by the Board to teach) Above average English Written & Verbal Communication Skills.

-Aged 22-27, experience with TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS teaching a plus.

-Highly professional and exhibits maturity, integrity, diligence and probity.
-Must be dynamic and flexible.

Applicants for filipino citizen only.

* We also need teachers for Elementary and middle school students. To be assigned at other cities of Korea.

Salary to be decided (in excess of US$1000.00 per month,) return air, 3 weeks vacation at the end of contract plus all Korean national

TIME TAYLOR INTERNATIONAL LIMITED can't get these filipinos E-2 visas so you have to assume that they are circumventing immigration laws by bringing them in under entertainment visas.

I'm impressed with the national diversity of the teacher-applicants posted on that site. Along with teacher-applicants from countries that we naturally expect, such as America and the other seven countries that qualify for english-teacher-visa status in Korea, there are teacher-applicants from lots of other lesser-known countries such as Kenya, Ghana, India, Philippines, etc. I'm glad to see diversity.
