| Because life is a competition with "X" and America. Right, cowboy? You can't criticize Korea on her own without some Korean making the immediate OH YEAH WELL AMERICA IS WORSE as if only 2 nations exist on our planet. |
I think you need to look at yourselves before slagging off other countries, I don't think that these small misdemeanours are much compared to what the states have done. Therefore I feel there is no discussion.
As the other thread showed don't expect america to help out when you've HELPED them out, examples, Korea, England, Italy. There is no shoulder to shoulder with hegemonic powers. They take want they want and go.
This is where the hatred comes from. As Bush said 'you're either with us or against us' Simple how you can split decisions into a dichotomy like that. |

You are Korean. I can tell this because even when the retardedness of your OH YEAH LOOK AT AMERICA "argument" is exposed to you, you just reiterate it.
The United States gets about 70% of all "slagging" on this site. mulims about 20% and the 10% remaining gets spread around quite evenly.
Grow the F.uck up and learn to deal with it. |

They moved to a foreign country.
Which means, I suppose, by your screwy "I Hate Korean and Will Do Anything to Prove It" "logic" that anything bad that ever happens to us waygookins here is deserved.
How long have you been in Korea? because you've certainly adopted some of their screwy logic traits. Good job! |

I'll help you.
They moved to a foreign country where the vast majority of their ethnic kin treat the vast majority of the Judge's ethnic kin like dogs.
It wasn't their fault. The Korean "community" in the USA has much, much racism to atone for. |

Wrong, I'm from a country that was meant to be really good friends with Bush. We've recently changed the nut case who was 'in charge' of our country. We actually feel 'guilt' about what happened and won't be conned into another illegal war. We are trying to regain a little dignity by not bombing the thsi out of everyone. Any guesses?
The anti-AMERICA feeling is justified. Anti-AMERICAN is a different kettle of fish, you can seperate the two. |

I have to say though, I don't see how a lawsuit like that is going to help matters on either side. |

Unless you put a great premium on illegal hookers, fermented cabbage, and nail salons you have the formula reversed.
It makes me sick to think of all the tax dollars stolen from hardworking Americans that have been given to the most ungrateful little xenophobes the world has to offer. |

I think that the majority of the tax dollars was actually stolen by Bush, not to mention the pensions fiasco. He's bankrupted the country and moved into opium selling in Afghanistan to fund his war in iraq. Didn't you ever think why he attacked afghanistan first?
Americans are hardworking, like the brits who just get cheated out of their taxes by the state with no visible improvement, and they keep on wanting more.
My point would be why stand shoulder to shoulder with any hegemonic power because you really wren't gonna get anything back. That's why they're at the top. |

Taxi driver in NYC says to me "With Koreans, it's always trouble; every time in the news if it's about Koreans, it's always some kind of trouble they've caused or been a part of."
And I'd have to agree with him. Let's look back at this year so far alone the stories involving Koreans that hit the national and international news:
Korean kills 32 at university
Korean couple involved in ridiculous suit over lost pants at their laundry.
Korean father torches car in Toronto, killing his son and daughter.
Korean couple dies in flash flood after trying to call 911, hanging up and calling their family members instead.
Korean prostitutes in . . . well . . everywhere
Korean woman attends university in California for months even though she was not a registered student at any university.
Koreans taken hostage in Afghanistan.
And let's not forget the North Koreans and all their antics.
Going back over the last couple of years:
SNU professor fabricates gene research and results
Korean farmers jailed in Hong Kong for breaking the law in their demonstrations against a meeting of economic powers.
Where is the good news? Sports? An occasional famous golf player?
<><><> Another, related line of thought: Can you think of one story coming out in the last . . five years . . . ten years . . . and making national and international headlines and notoriety about a Japanese person or group involved in some kind of similar trouble? Or Taiwanese? ( Now I'm sure someone's going to Google it and come up with something;but whatever you come up with, it's going to be obscure, not notorious. ) |
i'm not newspaper man but isn't news generally bad period!
how many newspapers sell with good news?
e.g. headline, headline, read all about it "a new bridge was made today to span the mississipi river..." |

Not getting anything back, eh?
Selling, Opium?
An illega war (so, how many U.N. mandates did Saddam break...hmmmm?)
Oh, Lordy......................
As Collin Powell said, "we just need some place to burry our dead".

Dude, that's not fair. The problem in that case was an idiot white-bread
judge! |
And how did they get themselves into the situation? And why don't we hear of this kind of thing with "a poor hardworking immigrant Japanese couple, Taiwanese couple" ?? |
You stupid idiot! If the same stupid judge had gone to a Japanese couple, Taiwanese couple, Pakistani couple he would've still been the SAME IDIOT JUDGE! Fact is, court ruled on the side of the Koreans--thus, NOT THEIR FAULT! |
There were two judges. The plaintiff was a judge and the case was tried by a judge. |

Um. Yes. I know. I watch enough L&O to know how court works. |

They did the same in Vietnam, that's why it lasted so long. They control opium selling which is worth 6 billion a year, estimated. That's gonna come in mighty handy about fighting the illegal wars.
How many WMD's did Saddam have??
If he was in breach of the UN mandates, then why didn't the UN give the thumbs up for the war? |

Sorry man, but I think you are off target with the opium scenario. If you really want to seek out a conspiracy about the Veitman War, then I suggest you do some digging into the topic of rubber.........
How many WMD's did Saddam have? Well, if you don't count the missing Anthrax (over 4,000 barrels of the stuff), and the fact that many of the weapons were sent to Syria (by train, gaurded Russian troops) just before the invasion........................................well, you do the math.
Do you not remember the U.N. and the U.S. give Saddam warning after warning to dissarm? Do you not remember the 18 U.N. madates that Saddam broke? Do you not know that he DID harbor terrorist and terrorist organizations? Why is that so hard to comprehend?
Lay off the pipe, man.

So, a thread about the numerous issues in Korean culture has now become about the war in Iraq.
This is pathetic. Learn to take criticisms. So childish to say "oh yeah, well look at what AMERICA did!!!!". Grow. Up. |
