|

hey everyone,
I'm about to finish my contract here and want to travel in China. I need a traveler's visa to do so, and I'm wondering if any one here can tell me the best way to get this. Do I go to the Chinese Embassy in Seoul? the American?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,

Most travel agents will do it for you. I got mine recently using Kangsan Travel (www.kangsantravel.com). |

if you aren't going through a travel agency, like I just did, you can go to the Chinese embassy in Seoul. You can also send in your passport and money and get it sent back in the mail. This is what I did, however I got a Korean teacher at my school to help me. |

Have you contacted your local travel agent about doing it for you? They do charge a little bit to process it for you even if you book tickets with them. I don't see why they wouldn't do the visa for someone else and jsut take the little bit of commission. Kangsan charged us maybe an extra 5000-10000--well worth lettting somone else take care of the hassle. |

Just slightly related...
I might be visiting Shanghai from UK (then going onto Korea). But I'll stay there for just a week. Will this cause any VISA problems in either China or Korea? |

Just get a chinese visa. You'll be fine. You should be able to enter Korea on the tourist visa waiver stamp (if you dont' already have your E2 or whatever visa you are on) |

A single entry Chinese visa is only good for 3 months (you have 3 months from the issue date to use it) . I'm not sure if you get a double entry visa, but I would bet its the same. Check with your travel agent. |

Separate visas would be required for each visit (one for each).
They are easy to get and take 4 days for regular processing.
Chinese tourist visas are single entry and limited (depending on your nationality) to a 30 or 90 day stay in the country and have a validity of (must be used within) 90 days from issue to entry. |

thanks for the feedback everybody, I'm much obliged. I believe I will have to use an agency, the Kangsan one at that, as I'm in Suwon and I haven't been able to find a local agency. Unless someone knows of one closer than Busan.
thanks again,
