Watch a program called Red Eye on Fox News Channel. Its very very funny. Greg Gutfield, Andy Levy and Bill Shulz (all from the aforementioned Red Eye) are hilarious right wing comedians.

Watch it Ya-ta-boy, you might be surprised!

P.J. O'Rourke - those were the days. I guess the younger generation just doesn't understand anymore.

Look, all we were trying to say was give war a chance!

I wanna start another thread on O'Rourke quotes.

sorry dude, that show is tripe. they all think they're very edgy cause the're slightly to the left of anne coulter- and mention the word "sex" on Fox News.

i remember they were discussing (AND AGREEING WITH) a recent case where two middle school boys were going to get jailed (AND PUT ON THE SEX OFFENDER'S LIST, RUINING THEIR LIVES) because they were running around slapping girls on the butt. Theyre morons.

What are you sorry about? Tripe can actually be quite good if its prepared in the right way.

I too saw that episode. I think one guest agreed that the kids should be prosecuted, but others on the show disagreed. So youre wrong about that.

The contributors to the show all work for major news publications. They have excellent careers so how can they be morons as you say?

Perhaps you dont agree with their politics, thats understandable. But cant you appreciate the humour of it?

And Ive been to Callao, its a hole. Are you from there? It wouldnt surprise me.

so anyone with an excellent career is a moron? are you familiar with politics?

I would appreciate the humour...except that they're not funny. I disagree with most comedian's politics, but am able to laugh at the ones that are funny.

Callao *IS* a hole, but it was quite fun back in the day. I liked La Punta beach. Why does it not surprise you that I am from a poor neighborhood? What are you insinuating?

Does, indeed, can, such a thing exist?

Of course "it' does, or you wouldn't have bothered to bait us with this thread.

I suppose you think Al Franken is funny. There's a reason his radio show and stage acts flopped. Now he's got a hankering for politics.

Dennis Miller is funny to all but the hardcore, cynical leftwing nutbars. He was great on SNL too. Back then, he didn't seem to bother the moonbats because it was "their show."

John Candy, while not ideological, often portrayed characters with rather conservative and middle-of-the-road values and he was brilliant.

Jay Leno is not a liberal in most respects: he's middle-of-the-road with more than a few conservative values. I saw his former show in 1990 and he was great.

Bill Cosby is also middle of the road and the best storyteller around.

That said, it's hard for a conservative comic to break into liberal Hollywood.

And I think Robin Williams is a genius even if he is a bit of a moonbat.

I'll throw out Jeff Foxworthy. Of course, he was funny for about 5 minutes.

Comics are but one aspect. The right-wing just isn't that entertaining.

Kid Rock

Toby Keith

Umm... I'm trying.

To claim Bill Cosby as right-wing is...like scraping roadkill off the street to show you're an animal lover.

DISCLAIMER: STEVIE DIDN'T SAY "THE COS" WAS RIGHT-WING. HE SAID HE WAS MIDDLE-OF-THE-ROAD.

But, still, pointing out who's moderate when you're asked about right-wing comics is a statement in and of itself.

Aren't they all?

As well as the left wing. It is all just a gas, so funny, when grown men (usually) pretend to see everything from one mountain top when indeed, life is a constantly moving place. Very funny seeing them pretend to stand still on a tilting treadmill!

But of course, people don't want the truth, they want comfort. Ideology provides them this, the warmth of others of their own illusion....no arguing over what to watch on the tube....

Perhaps Ya-ta's point is that it is tough to be a right-wing comedian because, what would they make fun of? Liberals? Can one parody a parody? Can one caricature a caricature? Jokes made about the Left are superfluous.

They sure can be. In fact, I think most comedians have no problem making fun of any politician of any stripe. If you lilmit your comedy so that it is always allied with your political views, you'll be more political and less funny. Al Franken is a great example.
