I saw a similar article on nytimes.com a few days ago. A lot of Koreans still believe he was legit. So nothing surprising there. |

Yeah he kind of backed into it. If he wasn't so hot to claim human cloning and chase even more fame, he might have realized what he had if he did the real head down science. It would have been another triumph for Korean science. And he probably would have been smoked out sooner or later. Other labs would try his method and fail. Eventually someone would think "oh maybe the results are because of pathogenesis" and found him out. |

I just read this article. It's funny, as mindmetoo says, if he was actually doing science, rather than seeking fame, he would have noticed it.
I don't really know much about the topic, pathogenesis, but it seems to be something you can't really create. It just sorta happens. Perhaps in the future it can be manipulated and created. But for know it is just an observation, albeit, the first. It's akin to finding a new species. You didn't really do anything but see it.
but, still, it would be a boost for Korean Science. |
