|
|
I was told a month ago that (as I would not directly be leaving Korea within ten days of completing my contract) that I would be receiving my end-of-contract airfare in cash. Seventy five percent of the Korean Airways cost they said. Yesterday I was told "No", the airfare cannot be given in cash. Ticket only. What is your school's position(s) on this matter. Christ Almighty, even scumbag hogwans give you the money in cash if you choose to stay in Korea.

Just click your heals three times, close your eyes and repeat the words 'Korea Sparkling!" three times in hushed tones. Then everything should work out just fine.
If not, you could appeal to your boss' sense of fair play.

Tell them you are staying in Korea and the contract says you get cash. Period. Don't accept any B.S. Threaten to call the labor board and the GEPIK liason as well. |

Just talk to the Korean Co-teacher at your school who is looking after you. They can chase it up for you... I had a slight delay on mine in getting it back ... But as soon as I asked questions about it ... I had it in my account within a couple of days ... She spoke to school admin and they processed it

Some GEPIK contracts have no provision in there for getting airfare reimbursement.
My 2007 GERPIK contract only states that you get airfare ticket reimbursement ONLY IF YOU RENEW AND DECIDE NOT TO TAKE THE ROUND TRIP TICKET.
Otherwise, if you decide NOT to renew, then you just get the free 1 way ticket back home.
I posted this info like 2 or 3 times before on another airfare ticket reimbursement thread and everyone ignored it.
NOT ALL GEPIK CONTRACTS ARE THE SAME. Some specify 75% reimbursement, others DO NOT HAVE THAT CLAUSE. |
