I've been living in Seoul for two years now, and I have a good number of restaurants and parks that I like to go to on dates with my girlfriend. But it's getting to the point where we're both having trouble coming up with new ideas. We don't like going to bars or clubs, so any other suggestions are welcome. Lotte World, batting cages... those kind of fun activity ideas.

Please don't turn this into a thread about how to pick up women in Korea, etc. I'm pretty sure we can all agree that's been done to death...

Share some of your good places first, and then I'll reveal some of mine...and let's hope they are not the same places.

Or, you could go to the same places over and over, and just bring a different girl each time, that might spice it up a bit too.

Movie downtown near Jongno (Cinecoa?), then a walk up and back down Insa-dong street, followed by a coffee / drink for conversation. Works charms. Time the walk in Insa-dong to be on the weekend just as the Sun is going down.

For me, the issue is that I'm not going on dates with different girls all the time... this is just me and my long-time girlfriend. So there's only so many times we can go to the same place and find it romantic.

But things that have been fun
- Hangang Park bicycling
- Lotte World in the evening
- Namsan Tower
- Tea in Insadong
- Soccer games at World Cup, or baseball at Jamsil
- Picnic in Yeoido Park

But there must be other good ideas out there. What are you folks doing together?!

I'm in a similar situation. What i usually do is keep going to see a movie as a last resort.
Bowling and golf ranges are cool and sporty. Also any soccer games and the horse racing can be fun.
You can go to a show like Nanta. I've never been but i went to Jump and it was really good. No dialogue just clever slap stick stuff. I went to a Korean comedy club but they said some offensive things and used the 'N' word so i complained and got my money back.
The weekend newspapers usually have some listings for shows, operas, musicals, ballets. Even if its not your usual cup of tea some of them are worth checking out. And you could go to Hongdae and find a bar with bands playing.
Like TPCOC said, taking a walk when the sun sets is a classic romantic move.

Want to give her an adrenaline rush? Go to the shooting range in at the Jamsil Lotte.

I guess it's not very romanic. But unless she's fired high powered handguns before, she'll always remember you for it. And women like excitement as much as men.

If you want to pick up girls, you gotta take her to Harlem or NB in Gangnam. Girls here don't date guys that can't hang with the b-boys.

Cdninkorea is right on about the shooting range. Even if you are anti-gun because of the violence they cause, the guns are cabled to the wall and can't cause violence (unless you think a physical explosion and propulsion is violence, then so are are cars).

I would recommend the trusty Han river cruise at night or Namsan at night. The restaurant on top of Jongno Tower is a nice, and expensive, idea.

Keep doing new things. Go to new places, even 30 minutes outside of town. End up at a chicken hof? Who cares! You are there for each other.

A good guide book is a way to go, too. Act like a tourist sometimes.

Go to La Festa and Lake Park in Ilsan. It's a bit of a trek for Seoul but taking the number 3 line to Jongbalsan puts you right in the middle of the fun and there are places to stay there if the day turns into night.

I've only been to the aquarium at COEX, but it was pretty dingy and depressing. Is the one at 63 Building more impressive?

One suggestion: A nice early evening dinner at the top of the 63 Building and then an aquarium/IMAX experience on the lower floors did the trick once for me. For the restaurant though you should call and make a reservation the day before.

I've always done my research before taking my girl out on a date,
and here are some of my past experiences where they were fun
or memorable, even in bad conditions:

1. Ilsan Lake Park
2. An Myon Do (small island about 4hours drive south from Seoul)
3. Shopping at places like coex
4. Take her out to exotic restaurants (Indian, Mexican, Spanish, etc...)
5. Drive in theater near Namsan Tower or Jamshil
6. Go to the beach
7. Go rollerblading or biking at a park
8. Cook meals together
9. Watch movies, there are many good ones out now, or soon to come
(Die hard, Zodiac, Harry Potter, etc...)
10. Stay home and make something together
11. Stay home and do some home decorations (DIY)
12. Incheon China Town has some nice restaurants and scenery
13. Take her to weekly illegal drag races
14. Live music cafe's
15. Jang Heung Artpart

Can't remember any more... Most of the time we just watched movies
and ate just try brainstorming for ideas or google it on the Korean
search engine "naver.com"
