Calling all fishermen/chefs:

I thought I was getting a bargain at Lotte Mart on some frozen fish. But it turns out that the fish are whole. Do I need to gut these things before cooking them? How does one gut a fish?

Thanks in advance.

You don't have to gut it.

BBQ it very well, then fillet it, then scoop out the innards.

All is well

It really depends on what kind of fish you got. If we are talking about small fish, then no.

Normally I would definitely gut fresh fish - I did that just Saturday! You slid open a small bit directly under the head, take out everything inside, wash and then do whatever you want with it!

Fish entrails are very good to make a fish soup, just be sure to "Filter" the soup after coocking.
