Do your co-workers leave their phones in their desks and at full volume?

Some days I'm ready to go bat-shit because of hearing their rings and jingles all day.

I don't understand it. I have a small office. If they put their phones on vibrate, you can hear them, but everyone in the office has their cellphone on a loud volume. Some people have phones so loud I can hear them three doors down. Are they deaf, or what?!

This was actually a contributing factor for why I didn't renew at Public School. Not to mention the morons who are calling. Like 7-8 calls in a row. You'd think after two calls TOPS, they'd realize said teacher is in class.

This pisses me off more than anything. At my last public school I sat right next to the phone in an office for five teachers. Often I would be the only one there. At first I answered the phone, but even when I did so in Korean, the other party would hang up right away.

After a few weeks of this I stopped answering the phone altogether (it was never for me), and sometimes it would ring. And ring some more. When it was done doing this, it would continue ringing. Considering it was not a big room, you'd think after a few rings whoever's calling would figure out that no one's going to answer it.

When my parents in law realised i put my Cell phone on Vibrate they were very angry with me.

When they asked me why, i said if i don't feel it i don't want to be disturbed.

Then they said something, what if something important has happened, " I will call them back" .....

This is another one. And the phones are so LOUD! I'm in an office with 3 other people and they ALL have loud phones and cellphones. It drives me absolutely retarded some days.

Many people put the cellphone on a pedestal above all other priorities. I hate when someone answers the phone on a date or interrupts an important conversation with it... It's a wrench in the machine of social norms...to be used for good or evil.

One of my x coworkers never turned off his phone or used the manner mode. After warning him many times, we turned the volume to barely audible and super glued it shut. Funniness ensued.
