I am not an English teacher, but need to make a trip similar to the visa runs that are common among teachers. I don't actually need to visit any embassy, just need to leave Korea and come back (I know it sounds funny, but I'm completely above-board and doing exactly what the immigration office has told me).
I have narrowed it down to HK or Singapore, but can't decide. I've been both places, but only on business and not for sightseeing. I would only go for a weekend. Recommendations are welcome.

If you are only going for a weekend, I would suggest Hong Kong, cos it's closer and gives you more time to visit places (it's 4 hours vs. 6 plus for S'pore).
www.cathaypacific.com has some great packages for 2 nights 3 days that include accommodation and flights for around 600K. Go to the website and select your country preference on the top right, then when you are in the Korean (English) site, click offer and see for yourself what they've got! |

Why not Fukuoka in Japan? It's much closer & cheaper. Or Beijing, Taiwan or Vladivostok?
I would also choose HK over Singapore. Keep an eye on the 2 typhoons approaching HK & Taiwan, if you're going this week. |

| For tourism, HKG. It has better views and more personality. Its fun to explore. Perfect place to go for a couple days. |
