Hey,
I could never find clothes in Korea that I liked. I'm known to be quite fashionable among my friends and buy my clothes at H&M, Zara, Mexx, and American Eagle. American Eagle is a bit on the younger side, but if you have the right body type, you can pull it off. American Eagle ships almost anywhere. Sure you can find items in Korea that 'almost' get it right, but I always found that something was 'off'...whether it be the fit, colours or material. Anyway, good luck!

in ulsan and busan there are some cool clothes shops
obviously it's not like london or tokyo, but there are some cool clothes
i'm always tempted to buy some of the scarface type stuff the old guys wear here  |

Gawd I am so happy I am not in my 20's anymore. I wear WHAT I like. I wear what feels good and fashion be damned. I like doc martens and hate high heels. I like Birkenstocks and wear them.
I don't mind tarting up but my days of worrying about if my pants are slouching enough and if my tee is the right shade of Abercrombie and Fitch fade are over thank all that is holy. I got $hit to do. Fashion ranks about 9,999 on that list of things to worry about.
Not ragging on anyone just a statement of fact. FASHION DOESN'T MATTER. HANDBAGS DON'T MATTER. SHOES DON'T MATTER. AND DESIGNERS SUCK.

No offense to you, Lao Wei, but I wouldn't dream of shopping at AE and then going around saying I'm known among my friends for being a stylish guy. It's like eating at Subway every day and telling people you're a gourmand. |

Hey,
No offence taken. Still, I've been called stylish in the little hick town where I come from as well as in Hong Kong and Toronto. So, I'm not really in any doubt about whether I'm a good dresser.
If I remember correctly, you're American. I'm Canadian. We haven't had American Eagle in Canada for as long as it has been around in the U.S. As far as I know, there haven't yet been any negative connotations attached to AE in Canada. However, there are a few Canadian brands which I associate with douche baginess as well...such as 'Randy River' and 'Bluenotes' (AE bought Bluenotes and then quickly sold if off to another company due to poor sales).
Personally, I don't shop based on brand. Ideally, I'd like it if there weren't any logos on my clothing. If I see something I like, I buy it. If that happens to be in American Eagle or in a cheap market in Hong Kong, so be it. Still, I do like the 'preppy' style of American Eagle...and really, the casual sections of Zara and H&M have very similar styles to American Eagle.
Oh, and I guess another reason I like these stores is because they have more of 'slim' or 'vintage' fit. I'm on the skinny side  , so it's nice to find clothes that don't hang on me.

Shoes do matter an awful lot, but in comfort rather than style. So I'll buy all of my shoes in places other than Korea.  |
