I am looking to ship a few odds and sods home and have them packed in boxes- the price at the post office seems inhibitive- however, I contacted a shipping conmpany and they said my load wasn't worth it to them. Does anyone know of a company that lots shipments together to Vancouver?

did you ask about sending it surfac e(via a ship that takes a month or two) that is usually the cheapest option....a lot of my friends have shipped stuff home by that method and it has been reliable and cheap

I am process of sendig stuff home. shipping is expensive. The PO is best option so far I have spent 140000 for 6 boxes ranging in weight heaviset 12 kgs. The heavier the better and surface is cheap.

I recommend going online and looking into American Baggage. They'll send it by container ship, takes maybe six weeks, you pay by the pallet (by cubic meter, not by weight.)

You have to package your stuff properly and you have to drop it off at the container ship warehouse nearest your city and you'd have to go down to the dock in Vancouver to pick it up again in two months.

Lots of paperwork, but an admirable savings if you're good with details and following protocol. I cut about 400 dollars off of the lowest bid given by the lowest bid given by an international moving company.

Thanks for starting this thread PC. I'm going home in 3 weeks and I was just about to look into it now. Holy crap! This seems to be a lot more expensive than I thought it would be. Anyway, I'm going to start clearing some stuff out this weekend, so I'll also do some research on shipping options. I'll keep my eyes posted on this thread.

Ship it by post office - surface mail. It'll take about 6 weeks, but it'll get there.

(And it's a hell of a lot cheaper than sending things TO Korea by post!)
