I'm having a few problems running WET and was wandering if anyone can help.
I've just purchased the required USB cable and installed the software onto my old desktop which is running XP, but when I begin the transfer onto my new laptop (running Vista) the program keeps crashing (on the desktop PC).
I've tried to resolve the issue but without any success. One thing that I thought may be causing the problem is the USB ports on my old PC are not 2.0, although I doubt that this is the problem.
I'd welcome any suggestions as I'd really like to get all my files etc on to my new laptop before I head out to Korea.
Incidently, I've a 280GB external hard-drive which I'm am currently backing up with all my desktop files. Once I've backed it up and plugged the external HD into my new laptop will this perform the same kind of function as Easy Transfer?
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks in advance. |

Depends on what you are transferring. If its just data (pictures, movies, files, etc...) then you can use the External Drive to transfer.
Do you have a router? If both your PC and your laptop is plugged into a router, then you can enable Windows File Sharing and just drag and drop everything you need to transfer that way. |

By router do you mean does my laptop show up as a drive on my desktop? If that is what you mean, then no. |

| Eh.... just copy files/folder from your computer to external hard drive. Then from external hard drive to your Laptop. That would be the easiest way. |
