This article from Yahoo reminded me of a conversation I had with a Korean (female) friend a while back. I brought up the fact that all of the Korean (male) singing and acting celebrities all tend to be very feminine looking. She agreed, but she said that it was that look and appearance that Korean women find "sexy". Anyway, I saw this article today and it reminded me of that. It says that women are attracted to men with feminine features as they see them as better partners......go figure. Here's the link:

I don't know what Korean women like, but I would totally prefer a feminine looking man over a gym bunny.

(BTW, Doogie, beat me to it. I was just about to post this article.)

With Koreans both men and women tend to become more manly as they grow older. Smile

There are guys you have fun with, and then there are those you marry to raise the kids the first guy left you with.

Great minds think alike, Altavistic. Laughing On a side note, I had a similar conversation with my Korean co-teacher once (40-something female). She said that the young Korean girls and women liked the feminine featured, stick-thin look. She said it wasn't her cup of tea, though. I believed it when I met her husband. For a Korean man, he's definitely a big, husky, tough looking guy.

Women see masculine-looking men as more unsuitable long-term partners but men with more feminine features are seen as more committed and less likely to stray, researchers said Wednesday.

My boyfriend isn't stick thin, he actually has a pretty solid body. He's not my brother the firefighting USMC, though. However, I did have...an encounter with a Korean man who had black belts of various levels in four martial arts and he was freaking buff.

And about "cups of tea..." my boyfriend likes the fact that I'm not stick-thin either! Laughing

I'm pretty skinny, about 185cm. I can't gain weight at all, nor much muscle. My build is similar to that of taller Korean men. I can eat and eat, but nothing changes. Sure, I can walk for hours and hours without any trouble, so I'm not unfit - I just look like a sunflower sometimes.

But surely feminine isn't just being thin, it's also having a baby face. That's something I can never hope for, due to facial hair. Laughing

I read an article some years back and one study showed that when economic times are good then women prefer men who are pretty boys, but in tough times they prefer tougher looking men. So maybe if korea went through a tough recession some of these pretty boys would disappear.

Agreed.

Done with the bi-curious thing anyway. If I wanted a smooth, skinny, pretty thing then I'd just date a girl Very Happy

IN a Korean chicks' mind, they probably want pretty boys because they are less likely to become a wife-beating machine after marriage, which is what happens more often than not in Korean relationships.
.

However, this is all BS from what I see (methinks a nerdy newspaper cubicle writer is behind this writing). I've yet to meet or see a buff decent-looking in-shape bodybuilder-type (Korean or Western guy), not have the pick of the litter from almost any chick he wants.

I DO however see very good-looking lanky dudes not be able to get girls.
