|
|
I was using a Yahoo email account to distribute PDFs and CBRs of comic books to my summer camp students. After sending out 7 issues to about 20 students they've shut my account down.
On what grounds do you think they shut it down?
1.) Distribution of copyrighted material (these were all back issues, at least a year old, probably two).
or
2.) They saw the traffic as spamming?
Thankfully my camp ends soon and those comics should be enough. |

Why on earth don't you just contact Yahoo instead of asking us? |

You don't own the copyright on the comic books. That could be it. |

I thought my OP was clearly written, I must have been mistaken.
I was acting illegally by distributing the material, although it is a minor offense I would think.
I was curious as to what most likely was the reason they got me. The distrubition of all that material or the fact that so much of it got bounced from hanmail and naver accounts that all that action drew Yahoo's attention and they thought I was a spammer?
As I was acting illegally I'd rather not contact them and say, hello, I was breaking the law is that why you closed my account? |

i don't have any solution to your account deactivation problem, but in the future it is both safer and smarter (from a resource usage standpoint) to host the files somewhere on the web and email your students the link. i would think the files you are sending out (i suspect they are under 10 MB since you're sending them via email) are small enough that you should be able to find plenty of free hosting sites. hope that helps. |

I wonder how on Earth Yahoo could see or would even be interested in seeing what you were sending by private email. What is this, a police state? |
