|
|
This may be a naive question, but is a, say 125cc motorcycle really a better ride than a 125cc scooter? I've had a scooter for a year and a half, but I've never been on a motorcycle.
Is a motorcycle a lot more difficult to ride?
Is it a smoother ride?
Is it better on bumpy roads?
I know I should just try one out and see how it feels, but I'm trying to think it through before I waste some seller's time.
And, like I said, I REALLY don't care about looks. Any opinion is welcome! Thanks! |

Motorbikes are a bit harder to ride because of the manal transmission. They are more stable at high speeds (bigger wheels) and better at cornering (more gound clearance). They are also generally quicker than same CC scooter counterparts.
That said - stick with your scooter. Can't beat 'em for around town putting around. |

i think i would stick with a scooter if it's simply round-town commuting. anyone i know who has done both has complained about the possibility of weaving in and out of congested traffic with a full-size bike.
that said, if you're trying to go on long trips, a bigger bike sounds like a more practical choice. |

On top of what IlIlNine said, I prefer the extra control you get riding a manual bike by being able to control what gear you're in, aswell as letting the clutch slip.
When on vacation in Thailand etc I don't much like those little scooters you can rent - saying that, I still rent them |

You won't know until you try.
After you try, you'll never look at a scooter again. |
