This subject popped up on another thread, and I was curious to see how the numbers turn out...

Personally I love the stuff, particularly as a preventative hangover cure.

It tastes vile usually. I'd rather drink battery acid if I had the choice most of the time.

Thing is, after heavy exercise, this stuff is rather decent. It seems to taste better than it usually does. Which is a blessing.

:)

So I'll abstain from voting.

jae.

That stuff is just plain nasty... *cringe*

I remember when I first came here, one of my students wanted me to try a "Korean product"... after taking a big gulp, my student asked me what I thought about it... and although I wanted to gag and spit it out, I lied through my teeth and told him it was good..

What an appropriate name though.. It does like like sweat... Embarassed

I think it tastes like gatorade- sometimes it really hits the spot, but you don't want to drink it 24/7.
I heard it originated in Japan, anyone know if this is true?

Yep, it is originally a Japanese drink...the company still makes several other variations of it...I have seen it in Japan so I assume it is made by license here in K-land

Bulsajo, I have nothing to go on, but I think you're right. In the movie 2009:Lost Memories, where the premise is Korea is still a colony of Japan, the Pocari Sweat machines, and not the Chilsung Cider ones, are all over the place.

I'm totally with SeJong , this stuff is majic if you can force feed yourself a liter of the stuff before you crumple onto the floor, your hangover will almost certianly be a mild one.

It does taste good after the Gym too, salty and really refreshing. I'd buy the stuff at home if I could.

How 'bout Pocari and Tequila? Haven't tried it, just an idea.

I like blue gatorade and vodka.

Best stuff on Earth - and yes, it is Japanese. Koreans bash the Japanese but don't even know their own products from Japanese ones! Oi vey!

The Taiwanese Pocari is watered down. Not so good.

Jean Reno is the spokesman in Japan!

Be like Leon - drink milk and Pocari,

Joe
