Hi everyone. I need your help again!
I currently am in Korea to stay with my boyfriend. We are planning on marrying, and I need to stay in Korea longer. I am staying under a tourist visa and my visa expires on October second. That is when my ticket back to Canada is. What is the best and cheapest way to solve this? Should I go to Japan, come back and book another ticket out of japan (for a later date) to reenter korea on another tourist visa? I'm not so much worried about getting out of Korea, but I'm worried about re-entering. Please help me ASAP! |

Go to immigration, explain your circumstances and see if they will let you apply apply for a G1 visa until you are legally married and can get your F3 visa.
Alternatively if you were here on a visa waiver stamp (as compared to an actual visa) you can probably apply for a real tourist visa and extend your stay as well instead of making a trip to Japan.
If you do make a trip out of the country and back there are no worries. You leave on one flight and return on the next. Out and back, and as long as you still have your ticket to Canada you meet the requirements for a new 6 month visa waiver stamp with no additional questions asked.
Congrats on the upcoming nuptials.

Thanks! But obviously I need to change the date on my ticket back to Canada, right?
Also, do you know of any other country thats cheaper than Japan? I think it might be nice to go on vacation during the upcoming Korean Thanksgiving holiday next month. ^-^
I've checked out kangsan travel but the website is confusing... I see the package deals but when I checked out the forums it says that its much cheaper than that! Hmm~ what to do. |
