I'll let you guys in on a little secret about American girls.
The prettiest ones are the ones in Utah, with the Mormons.
They are very beautiful, virginal, and marry young.
My friends who go to Brigham Young University, attest to this.
Over the years of polygamy, the best and prettiest girls it seems have been continued.
Thats why these people in Utah, you never meet them outside of their home state. They never leave, because of the beautiful, innocent, virginal women there. |

| South African girls have got one thing going for them , in that they play sport all through school and keep very fit/active after (obvious exceptions). That mixed with the tans/stay fit for the bikini beach culture and the fact that they are still quite feminine and demure in comparison to their British/American counterparts is a winner for me . |

I find that generally people of mostly Anglo-Saxon descent are less attractive than many other European indigenous population groups.
Maybe that's why Canada/US seems to be ahead in this pole. The gene pool is a bit more varied in those countries. |

Man, that may be true, but the girls of the 18th century rule. Talk about "feminine and demure." Ah, the good old days before women's suffrage and career options.

I have no idea how this works, but something about living by a coast or close to one seems to be good for one's health.
I have no reason to "rate" people on beauty but people who live by coastlines always appear healthier. I even notice that with the people I go to school with-some live or grew up closer to the coasts than others, and those individuals just look healthier.
I don't mean it in a snobby way and of course I'm just making a generalization which has a lot of exceptions. At any rate, I've come to terms with Koreans and foreigners in Korea judging based on appearances alone-here where I live (not in Korea) both men and women are judged by how much cash they have and the cars they drive a lot more than by appearance. Think salesladies in Pretty Woman-it doesn't matter what you look like, cash is king. (And because of this guys are leaving in droves and a lot of the women are golddiggers.)
I don't think judging people by either factor is good, but at least in Korea, attractive, broke people can have a shot. |
What might be also true, or to specualte on why girls from near the coast are more fit...is that people who live on/near the coast are probably wealthier than their inland counterparts. There have been many a study done that attest to the fact that obesity affects the lower classes and 2nd generation immigrants more than the wealthy. It cost a lot more to eat healthy and belong to a gym and buy running shoes etc. etc. than to buy the whole family a meal at taco bell. |

| I'd say the survey leaning more towards USA & Canada, reflects the fact that there are 14.38 times as many Americans (302 million), as there are Australians (21 million). And there are 33 million Canadians, about 57% more people than Australia. Even so, Canada is doing really well in this survey, after adjustments for population size are made. |

on the BYU campus, people frown on even hand holding.
guys wear nothing above the knees, girls wear nothing above the knees either, or above the mid arm.
so they marry early, usually when they are 21-ish. but yeah, most mormon girls stay virgins until marriage. (the guys do too tho ) |

The majority of English teachers in Korea are Canadian, seconded by Americans. The population size of respective countries is irrelavent.

is spelt as "irrelevant" in Australia. But I concede your point, nateium. What percentages are the foreign English teachers in Korea? Links? And yes I know many of them are female, which would also influence a survey like this (some of them will think it's juvenile). Most posters here don't bother stating their nationality in their profile so it would be a time consuming project, trying to search all their posts for clues, & I really can't be bothered. |

Excuse me. I typed fast and didn't double check. Error corrected. I did see a list of percentages of English teachers by country, but it was two years ago, and I can't remember where I say it. I'll look. |

Other facts
Only people from seven major English speaking countries (USA, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland) may obtain E-2 visas. (true?) However, teachers with a North American accent are prefered and they get the better jobs. A recent hiring at a prominant university in Seoul employed 50% Canadian teachers, 40% American teachers, and 10% other. North American teachers usually hold many management positions as well. If you are from a non-North American-speaking country you can expect to be politely asked to use a North American accent or told to lie to your students to tell them you are American or just not hired for a particular job.
Other nationalities can get an E2 visa, but they must teach a language related to their nationality, if they are to be language teachers. E2 visas are primarily, but not only for language teaching. Members of other professions also get E-2 visas. The seven countries listed above are those that qualify one to teach English on an E2 visa. |
