My boss won't give me a Letter of Release. I am leaving the school, gave the proper notification, and did everything by the book. My question is, when he goes to immigration and cancels my visa, am I then free to get a visa through the new school, even though the date on the old visa hasn't run out yet? Is there any other way to get around this issue?

Thanks

When I was in Korea before, my boss wouldn't give me a letter of release either. You really don't have any choice except to stay and finish your job if you want to have things go smoothly.

Yup, without a LoR you're screwed until your contract expires. You have two choices: play nice, or play dirty (PM Yu_Bum_suk on how to play dirty).
