I like 40 km's outside of Seoul, but I feel like taking the mountain bike in to town, and party in Itaewon tonight. I plan to freshen up and shower at a jimjilbang, then start to drink heavily. I plan to sleep at a jimjilbang after drinking as well, as I'm sorta low on funds. Then I will bike back tomorrow all hung over.

So my question is: will my bike get stolen? I have two locks, I'll use those, but my bike is a pretty expensive one--about $2,500. Any thoughts? Or know a good bike lock-up area?

Forty kilometres is a walk in the park, why bother cycling in? Just out of interest, what kind of bike are you riding?

Because I don't own a helicopter, and want some exercise?

An expensive one.

If you are coming from the east you can follow the Han river a lot of the way in. There are loads of bike paths beside the Han river and the tributaries going north.

Try this link for bike paths. If it doesn't work go to www.mtbk-adventure.com and have a look for the Seoul city bike path maps.

You wouldn't happen to be from Yangpyeong would you? I'd be very wary taking in an expensive bike, but maybe they have a secure place in the Jimjilbang.
