hey guys/girls

I'm currently trying to decide whether or not I want to come teach in Korea for a year. One of the main sticking points involves playing music, and how much I would be able to play while over there.

Would it be possible to start a rock band if I came over? Is there much demand for this music at all, and are there many musicians to get together to play with?

Thanks

You'll have no problems. I got a rock band together within one month of being here. The rehearsal studio we play at is great, they provide all the equipment and its cheap. Also its pretty easy to get gigs.

thats good to hear.

Now is Seoul pretty much the be all end all in terms of the music scene? Are other cities simply not worth my time? How do they compare?

You might be able to start a band in Cheongju but you'd definitely have the most opportunities in Seoul.
