It's been noted Koreans seem to label other people's foods "too greasy" although a) they do not appear greasy b) there are a lot of greasy Korean foods like samgyupsal.

Yesterday my GF proclaimed some Japanese style fish battered cutlet "too greasy". I noticed no obvious greasy dripping off the cutlet. So I tried it. It was darn hard to swallow but because I would proclaim it "too rich". Ergo, it's not dripping with grease but it has the quality of crispy bacon.

Crispy bacon is pretty greasy. Plenty of foods are very greasy without "dripping with grease."

"Too rich" means roughly "too sweet", no? I wouldn't use it to describe fish.

yeah, i think this could be the case. too rich does not equal too sweet. I think richness correlates with fat content. like a really fudgey, chocolatey, cake can be rich, but so can cheese.

Apparently 'rich' is not a very well-defined word. I dunno if i'd ever call cheese or fish rich, but some stuff like gravy can be rich. At any rate, I don't think his girlfriend calling fried fish 'greasy' calls for a radical rethinking of the word.
