|

I will be starting with SMOE on August 25th and should have my visa within the next couple days. I managed to get to this point without getting a medical exam. My recruiter mentioned it and then sort of forgot about it once he got all my other necessary documents. Since I basically have my visa now as well as my plane ticket, should I just wait and see once I get there if they will even need for me to get a medical exam. I guess I am just not sure how necessary this thing actually is and before I shell out the big bucks to get one here in the US (I have not had insurance since I graduated from college so I have no idea what it will cost me), I just want to know how badly SMOE actually needs one at this point. It has not been long at all since my last check-up, so I know I do not have any health concerns that would keep me from doing my job.
Thanks guys |

You should just wait until you arrive at this point...There are places here that give you an exam for much less cost in the States. You are required to have a checkup each year for public school, and that normally takes place in the spring, (at least in my area)...If there is nothing glaring about your health situation it should be no concern to wait until you arrive... |
