Or is it just dave's ESL?
It seems that the posters on Dave's ESL, the women are happier than the men are.
But perhaps dave's esl does not represent the majority of teachers in Korea. maybe dave's just attracts unhappy people, who happen to be male.
your thoughts? |

| I can't speak for all male teachers in Korea but I do know that whenever I post a reply on Dave's and say something positive or ask a question - some guy has to bite my head off and tell me how stupid I am. I guess it makes them feel better about whatever it is that's rubbing them raw. |

when i was serving jury duty in compton, i noticed a different atmosphere between the people coming in for court, and for jury duty.
the announcer said that the people chosen for jury duty, have never had a felony in their entire lives.
then i realized why the environment was different.  |

How many teachers do you know in Korea JAD? How many do you talk to on a regular basis?
If you lived in korea and talked with a few, I'm guessing you'd quickly realize that Dave's is not the best representative portion. |

How many teachers do you know in Korea JAD? How many do you talk to on a regular basis?

yeah it is not the best representative portion, i agree.
(which is why i brought in the compton jury duty argument) |

The men however are much more aware of current events and history (hey, come on now we all know that's the truth) and thus have more of a bone to pick when it comes to Korea.

i thought most men complain about general life? and some guys complained that only "weird" girls want to date them?

I am generally happy here, then again I am living here with my fiancee. Football season is coming so I think I will be a little miserable not being able to watch football with my friends, but thats alright.
Why don't you move here and find out for yourself? |

Exactly.
Had a female friend come over to work in Korea for a while. The women in her college were famously, erm, physically unappealing so she was used to having her pick of the men. In Korea everyone ignored her which drove her insane  |

The male and female teachers I know in real-life seem to be evenly divided. If anything it seems that most of the teachers I know who are really happy here are men, and I've known a higher percentage of women who just couldn't cope with Korea.
Maybe poking fun at people just makes men feel happier than women. |

well, okay so all u guys answering.. then please answer the basic question
why are most of the complaints on dave's 99% from men?
btw, i knew one english teacher who married a korean woman, but others admitted while they were drunk the korean women they bagged were usually prostitutes. |

| Speaking of my own personal experiences, male teachers have gotten along a lot better than female teachers, and *every* teacher I know (out of many) who has been here longer than 2 years is a male. |
