I heard some violent yelling (in English) outside my apartment , in Jungdong, that resulted in even higher pitched scream a couple of seconds later. I got dressed and went down to check it out, but thought better of it when I saw two cop cars and an ambulance roll up. I didn't want to be linked to it just because I'm white. Anyone here know anything about it?

A few basic phrases standard to a fight "F U", "I'll kill you" then "I don't care I hate these people". And the wierd one, screamed at full throttle "I HAVE A TWO BEDROOM APARTMENT!!!"

No, jung-dong in Bucheon. I'm going to talk to my Korean friend who owns a restaurant a few meters away from the scene where it happened.

The guy was pissed that they wouldn't rent a room to him because he's not Korean. He was going to go inside and fight with the hotel owner. His girlfriend was trying to stop it, and somebody offered to put him up for the night.

That'd be my guess, but I live in Bundang and couldn't quite hear all of what they were saying from here... Laughing

No, that's serious business. I'd definately have to get violent if someone implied I lived in a smaller apartment than I do already.

Of course, that would be difficult without living in a cardboard box.....

Well I live in a six-urinal hwajangsil, with paper towels AND a hand/crotch dryer.

So there.

So the story goes that it was a couple of waygooks going at it. I think a couple of Koreans got roughed up trying to break it up, but the cops didn't do anything to either of the guys.

Yeah, that "I HAVE A TWO BEDROOM APARTMENT" scream cracked me up, too. I regret not going and checking it out, but these days I don't want to be around Koreans and foreigners when there's fighting going on.

Wow, I wish I had space for a washing machine or even a small chair in my apartment.

That 2 bedroom apartment guy has it made here I think.

I've never actually laughed out loud at a thread before - but that brought tears to my eyes! Good one!

Why do you bump these old threads?

How do you even have enough spare time to find them all?

Haha. I'm going to use the 2 bedroom apartment line from now on.

"So, tell us, what experience do you have teaching at a Korean university?"

"Experience? Bah, I've got a 2 bedroom apartment!"

"You're hired!"

That Itaewon t-shirt dude oughta be selling that on T's in English/Korea.

I completely missed that. I actually thought it was "last night".

Maybe stumptown should start another thread "Who was fighting outside my apartment two years ago?"
