I'm feeling like an idiot. On computer #1 I have all my music files and my I-pod is synced to that. Computer #2, I want to import everything from my I-pod, but I can't seem to.

How the heck do I move files OFF of my I-pod and onto my computer. Whenever I go to "sync" it says it's gonna erase everything from my I-pod to make it match the I-tunes player.

They don't allow you to do it, but there are freeware programs that you can DL that will do it for you. I can't remember the name of the one I used to use (don't use an iPod anymore), but google around, they're easy to find.

Set your ipod up as a harddrive (sorry I can't remember how to do this - but its a very simple native function. When you plug it into the second computer, if itunes is installed on the other computer don't run itunes (there is no need to run it run it, but if it does automatically you should decline its kind offer to sync - which will erase all your files). This way, you should be able to access your files as if the ipod was any other kind of removable drive.

You might want to try 'lifehacker' http://lifehacker.com/software/feature/hack-attack-the-selfsustaining-ipod-151662.php for more details on how to run your ipod on multiple machines, but the info above is the basic move if you just want to copy files.

recap: set the ipod to act as a harddrive, use it accordingly.

haha Laughing , when I had my ipod I tried doing this several times and I could never get it done. It's not like the itunes/apple website has the documentation on how to do it. Rolling Eyes

I'm glad I now have an MP3 player that allows it to be done in seconds.
