I haven't read too much discussion here about what people do with their free time, unless it involved drinking.

So, i ask: What activities do you do with your free time?

and: If working at a hagwon, how much free time per week do you have?

I used to read a ton of books, but lately haven't been able to find too much I like. During Fall and Winter, I do lots of hiking on the weekends because the weather is nice and cool. During the week I usually plan out my hike and then set out on Saturday or Sunday.

I play and listen to music, read, spoil my cat, and eat way, way too much.

Every so often I'd drop a map of Korea on the floor, pick a random spot in the country, take a while to figure out how to get there and what the attractions might be, then I'd go, wander around aimlessly and take pictures, got some really great ones that way.

Cruising around Korea on my motorcycle. Can't go wrong with a scooter or motorcycle in Asia and the wind whipping through your helmet is good for hangovers. The rush of air and oxygen is very....relieving. If only I could remember where I left my bike last night....

I've become a Crane-game master since I've been here winning a sizeable collection of gun/novelty lighters.

Martial arts study and collecting black belts with the quickest taking less than two months.

Korean bathhouses are great places to detox and pass time in a healthy way surrounded by semi-precious stones. Hanging at the beach.

Exploring for the best sam ge tang and other Korean delicacies via new restaurants. (costs a fortune to do in the west).

Jumping on a bus and just going somewhere/anywhere without planning.

Studying fiddle tunes on guitar(acoustic) and shred metal on electric-strat guitar and experimenting with multi-effect processors.

Surfing Youtube.

Watching CNN

Watching illegal downloaded movies from Limewire(yet to be released in Korea to recent releases.

Downloading and studying pimsleur languages loaded onto my mp3 player from Limewire and walking around town talking to myself.

And, of course checking out Dave's to see what's new in the world.

After all these pastimes my Korean still sucks but I don't care.

I did that a lot the first couple of years i was here with a couple of mates of mine...

Great fun...ended up in some bizarro places but there is always a decent yoegwan/motel and a family mart to have a drink and watch the locals.....

The more remote it is i find the better the adventure....

problem is now i have been here too long and have been almost everywhere...

Play guitar

Xbox 360!

Movies (downloaded or cheap DVDs)

Oddly enough I'm usually drinking during these activities...I just bough an ice chest and found that, filled with Miller Lite and a lot of ice, it makes a good companion for almost anything I do.
