I guess the bone and referring to the name of the continent rather than the country unlike other kids is wrong/weird.

I think the whole idea of a fashion show to show about where the kids were from is flawed to begin with. The hanbok is a part of Korean life and culture, but there isn't really anything comparable in most other countries.

If I were writing the books, I'd probably expand the vocab per chapter a little to have the kids say " Hi! I'm from _____ (a city might be better than country)and this is my family. The kids could hold up a picture (ideally not a drawing) of a family in that country, maybe in front of their home.

Once the students got the hang of saying "I'm from Seoul", or Gwangju whatever (We know you're from Korea!!!) then the teacher could expand the vocab to talk about houses, and familiesin the different countries

That's a great idea, easily adaptable to older and adult students as well. Provinces, cities, towns, neighborhoods are an important part of describing where you are from. My neighborhood is beside a river and has a lot of coffee shops and makoli restaurants. The Wharf, Old Alper Rd., The Boulevard, West End, East End, Portuguese Hill- names of neighborhoods were always important, even when I was a young kid. I try to teach my students about that because it bugs me when adults say, I am from Korea. You can also make the lesson fun by drawing smaller and smaller or bigger and bigger maps. This room, this building across from the Paris Baguette and next to the hospital, Seoshindong, Jeonju, Jeollabukdo, Korea, East Asia, Asia, Earth, Solar System, Universe, etc.

This guy made a lame joke about women comparing them to sashimi on radio -> netizen uproar -> official apology -> news coverage.
