|
|
Does anyone know the particulars related to an E7 Visa? This is a visa that is non-English teaching related, and more focused on working with technology. I am most interested in if it is a visa that can be obtained in-country or must it be acquired outside the country as the E2 is? Thanks for the feedback in advance... |

I had an E-7 visa, 2005-06, and I had to do a visa run. I worked at an international school. |

Yes, I have one right now. I had to do a visa run back last year. So, yes you definitely have to leave the country. |

Is it easier or more difficult to get than the E2? My friend will be getting one and wants to have all of the details to do it when he finishes this contract and begins his E7 contract...He will be using it for a special training school...Thanks again for your replies in advance... |

It's more about the company, less about you.
I worked for a software company for 3 months, trying the whole while to get an e7 for which I was qualified, but not the company.
In terms of hiring one for international marketing, you need to demonstrate more than 100 000US$ of overseas sales.. for that company, if I'd sold ONE PRODUCT, they'd have that limit reached, but they really couldn't sell one without hiring me.
Ridiculous chicken and egg situation.
Or you can speak to a laywer at Kim and Jang, pay about 5 mil, and you'll have one.
I'm the third person at my company now with an e7. Never had a problem there... |

I have an E7 and the company I work for had a hard time getting
it for me. You need a degree in business, economics or marketing
and at least one year experience in the type of work your visa covers.
There may be other categoreies of E7 but I believe these were the
rules for my marketing position. If you can get an E7, get it! The
difference between teaching jobs and other jobs is IMMENSE.
I have a B.Sc. in economics and immigration wanted to know why
my degree said: Arts and Sciences! Duh! Retards. |

I didn't technically have that much experience, but I had an MBA. The people who'd had my job ahead of me had even fewer qualifications. If the company you will work for has had an e7 in the past, you'll be fine. Otherwise it's a combination of you and the company, and whether or not immi chooses to let you have one.
If they refuse, the only other outlet is an expensive lawyer... but it seems to work usually... I know of a few people for whom it's come to that. |

My employer went through hell to get my E-7, early last year. I work in international marketing. Appparently, I was the first person to get the visa under these circumstances - don't ask me what they are, as I am still not clear.
I work for a Korean Government organisation. This may have had an impact on my application as they would want a local to have the job.
Despite a Bachelor of Business and a Master of International Business, I was required to provide letters from former employers, stating when I worked for them and what work I did. |
