Flash, yeah, I'll be in town on Saturday night. I'll be spending it with a certain fella of the moment, but I'm sure we'll go out to hit the bars or something. I actually don't think I have your number, PM me and I'll give you a call. Ditto for any of the other ladies.

It'll be my first weekend in the country, but I'm in Daegu, so I hope I'll see everyone in Sept or Oct or however long it takes me to find my way around the country!

DIRECTIONS:

Okay, so this is technically a new restaurant, and the owner sent me a map, but it is still not totally clear, from what I can see it looks like you take the Itaewon exit, exit number 3, walk toward Itaewon Hotel and make a right just past KB Star and the restaurant is there. It says it is a 3 minute walk. So, I propose 2 things, one if anyone is in Itaewon and can check the directions, and post here that would be great. The name of the place is Taj Palace. I also think if someone would be willing to scope it out ahead of time, so they know where it is and agree to meet people at the station who want a guide, that would be great. Last time Iluvbdt helped me out, but I haven't heard from her??? Thanks.

Wazwan & Taj Palace are still basically the same people. The original owner of Wazwan sold the business to his cousin. Both fellas are really nice. Actually, the original cook at Wazwan is still working at Wazwan and he makes damn good food.

I've eaten at both restaurants. The food is nearly identical. Same recipies I suppose. The main difference is the atmosphere of the restaurants. Taj Palace is a snazzy clean upscale Indian restaurant (without the upscale prices) whwereas Wazwan is homey neighborhood restaurant.

You can't go wrong with either of them. Taj Palace has the 15,000 won buffet on Saturdays & Sundays.

Taj Palace 010-7585-7786
Wazwan 02-798-1253

I like that line-up! I'll be there. I'm a vegetarian though, so if you've got a set menu I'm sort of screwed.

To get to either one of them, you get out of Itaewon Station at exit 3, walk past Starbucks to the hip hop clothing store on the corner. Turn right. Walk up the street 1 block and Taj Palace is on your right - second floor.

To get to Wazwan, continue one block more passing the Foreign Food Mart on your left and the excellent English bookstore, What The Book (both worthy stops on your way for cheap phone cards and great books). . Turn left onto the next street. Walk for about 3 minutes. You'll see the mosque on the left. Wazwan near the next corner.
