Where do I take all of my coins to? Do I need to separate the coins into 500/100/50/10, or do I just take it to the bank as is? |

Take it to the local branch of your bank with your atm card... swipe the card then tip the coins into this rather neat machine... does all the sorting and spits out the equivalent in notes when complete |

Depends on the bank...at KEB I had to seperate it all out into the individual denominations and they wrapped them up in the counting machine. I got the cash for the coins, but they can add it to your bank balance either with your card or bank book. |

Yikes, KEB makes you separate it all? Oh no, that's a few hours of a tedious task that a machine could do in 2 minutes when you're looking at 20 to 40 pounds of change. |

Take it to the bank ahead of time in case you have to wait for it to post to your account, before you can close the account and cash out.
Good thread on one facet of preparing to leave. Of course, if you're coming back, maybe you can leave the account open. Some teachers say they have done this, but I don't know if it is OK or safe to do that. |

I feel like someone may have mentioned this before, but yikes, KEB makes you separate it all? Oh no, that's a few hours of a tedious task that a machine could do in 2 minutes when you're looking at 20 to 40 pounds of change. |

How many 100 won coins does your average clear neon green plastic pig hold, anyways?
Just so I'll know how rich I'll be when mine gets full. |

I could have just been my branch or the person I went to. It is something to check though. |

I went to 3 banks before I found one with the machine(it was a KB). I had about 1/3 2L water bottle full with 50,100,500s and got about 80,000 won. Ask for help too, the girl had to shove a screwdriver in the machine to get my last coins in. |

Just walk into a local branch of your bank with a big bunch of coins, find the dude who stands by the front, and just act like a clueless dumb*ss until he holds your hand through the whole process. |
