Hi there,
This is not and i hope does not comes over as givening up or bitching about Korea. I just think I am done. (even though I have been here only 8 months)
I have been living in rural city just outside of Suwon. Good thing is I think I seen and learnt quickly about the korean culture, the soju night's and soju Korean's. Yes 8 months and not many friends I tried very hard but i am coming to understand here that its a social stigma to be with me. Or if they are they kinda wanting something of me. Plus being British, I am used to your "word is your bond". Can get frustrating at times when plans are made then it changes on the day or the hour. But all in all its been learning curve, a cultural lesson. But there seems nothing for me to stay on, ie friendship, or this place. As nothing really wows me in this country. All seems to be the same.
SO I need advice from you all, where next for me, i'd like to choose an asian country where i can be wowed abit, by the culture, scenary and build some friendship. ( ie people are normal meeting all types of people.) money is not too much of important. Just like to learn more not just drink. So what your advice where's next for me?
Please no bitching, lol. Just ask for some kind advice.
Iam sure some of you understand.
thanks

You understand by now that putting a giant font size tag in your title won't work right? Further, if it did, it would look ugly. And it would be damn rude to mess up tables that way. It's not the way to get people to help you. |

It sounds like you are unhappy where you are due to the fact that it is difficult to make friendships. What does the size 18 refer to, is it your size?
I am not familiar with the area that you live in but perhaps you may want to cultivate some interests and meet people that way.
Also, don't be afraid to do things on your own. |

THAILAND
You can't fail to have a good time.
Just don't take it seriously.
Also be prepared to use your savings from Korea to supplement your teaching income. |

Sounds like a city vs. rural thing and not a Korea vs. other countries thing. |

Come to Busan. All the Brits I know are having a fantastic time. Yeah, they would prefer to be in the south of Spain or Argentina but they are still having a good time here.
Most people, except fo rme ---I was spoiled in the Caribbean--really love this city and country. Out of the hundred to two hundred people I've met, only one or two have chose to stay here only for a year.
You are in No Mans land. Think about about. If you were going to go to America, would you go to a rural hick town in Alabama or would you go to a big city?
Where have I been this week? The beach, the Thai place, the Mexican joint once, to the movie Theater, to the Arcade and Im going to the pseudo-Irish pub tonight.
Get out of the sticks. |

I'm sure if the OP were British this would be great advice. |
