Korean presence in Phillipines creating tension

Here are my last 4 experiences with Koreans in the Pilippines (just from the last trip):

--in a restaurant a middle aged man and his 3 friends asking for Korean noodles. The waitress says, "Sorry, no Korean noodles on the menu." The guys keeps insisting, 3, maybe 4, times before he gets the point that there are NO FUKING KOREAN NOODLES ON THE MENU.

--in an upscale clothing store, young Korean guy (maybe 20-30's) refuses to wear the socks provided him by the sales clerk to wear with the $600 shoes he's trying on. She asked him about 3 or 4 times. If that had been at the Louis Vuitton store in Lotte they would have told him to wear the fuking socks or not try the shoes.

--I'm sitting and relaxing in the lobby of my 5 star hotel. There are a hundred people around me, eating, drinking, lsitening to the live classical band that plays in the hotel lobby. Everything is serene. Suddenly a group of Koreans young and old walk in, sit not more than two tables down from me, and turn the place into a zoo.

--an instance of seeing Korean men not want to pay their bill and getting physical with the waitress so they called security and the Korean guys paid and left.

With the exception of one white guy, the only times I've ever seen confrontation or been disappointed, or seen the atmosphere of a place completely turn is when Koreans were around.

Here's a better question, if the American Rebels had never declared independence would North America and the world be a better place? Laughing

Absolutely! America would be more like Canada. Well perhaps. Laughing

Yeah, high taxes, people just slummin' on welfare, a brain drain as the best and the brightest would leave to better and less taxed shores, a healthcare system that is great until you need it...

Yeah but you wouldn't have to worry about going into debt after breaking your leg or having a heart attack.

You also can marry if you are a homosexual and not have to worry as much in regards to religion encroaching in to politics.

You'd feel a lot safer as less people own firearms and far less drug addicts.

Race relations would be much calmer and a greater apppreciation for one human rights would be observed by society and the government.

There would be a lot less pollution.

And finally, the majority of the rest of the world wouldn't hate your leaders.

Laughing

Canada > USA

If you like your pathetic excuse for a country, fine. But the brain drain suggests otherwise.

Classic Canuck line: I think Canada is the best country to live in, only I'd never live there.

Yeah buddie keep going with the brain drain argument. You must be proud to have so many people drawn to your nation based on the fact that you can make more money.

Because money if everything, right?

Rolling Eyes

Come on dude, give me something other than money.

And while America has the wealthiest people in the world, it's poverty in it's innercities and other areas dwarfs anything that Canada can come up with.

Not just money but lifestyle and other factors. You know what, I've done this argument before and don't care to do it again, but judging by the large numbers of Canucks leaving their so-called socialist paradise, I rest my case.

Yeah, it sucks and all, but the Filipinos are the ones who sold the land, allowed the licenses, and continue to give permission for the business to operate. If some Korean business man opened a pojang macha on Staten Island, I'd be pissed too, but more angry at the knucklehead bureaucrat who allowed it to happen.

You're forgetting that in the Philippines, more than in North America or Korea, there are the super-rich and the super-poor. The super-rich, who hold all the strings of power, are allowing this to happen and are making money off of it. It's the poor Filipinos who suffer by having to tolerate the loud, obnoxious, abusive tourists.

Large numbers? We're not f-ing Mexicans or Filipinos.

And yes, Canada has a health care system (like most of the developed world - save for the Americans you are so damn greedy that they don't care about those who cannot afford to take care of their health), and social security system, and a few other socialist programs; but when have Canadians ever declared their country a socialist paridise.

Jesus Christ, it's not like we're Sweeden! Wink

So lifestyle in America is superior to Canada? Care to provide examples.

Sure they have the wealth and like I said if you're wealthy, the States is a great place to live.

But again if you have a heart attack with no medical insurance, or take the wrong turn in downtown Baltimore/Miami/Detriot, or have a President who prays to the Lord for political advice, then being an American isn't a great as one would make it out to be.

Look dude, you started this battle so don't puss out now. If you're going to criticise Canada in a way that attempts to boost your own nations superiority you better come up with something better than taxation.

Sure many Canadians bitch and moan about high taxes, yet they would bitch and moan even louder if they had to pay a $1000 dollar bill for a broken leg.
