				| Seongnam (not Bundang) and the Suwon Station area are utterly decrepit, filthy, and full of vice. Dirty farmers come out of the woodwork. Alcoholics drinking on the open streets. Streets and streets full of brothels. Man these areas are the pits.

Which area do you think is the worst?

				| I thought Seongam looked ok when I was there.
Is that the place with the nice park in the center with the dancing fountain and the really empty E-mart with no other shops and only 5 open in the food court?

				| There's an overpass walking bridge just west of Yeongdunpo Station that has a collection of homeless/mentally ill people living at the base of it.
I've rode through there several times with my bicycle. It's quite strange.

There is also a red ligt district a few blocks away.

But I still love Yeongdunpo. It has a lot of character to it.

Haha. Did my time up in Manguri back in 2003-2004. Yeah total, sh*thole. I think the only thing that was good about it was COSTCO at Sangbong Station.

Yeah, both those areas aren't that bad at all.

Really? *hopeful* Because my public school job is closest to the Guro Digital Complex station and I'm slightly apprehensive now.

				| i work at guro digital complex. it's dotted with brand new buildings, there's a great walking/biking river-trail right alongside the subway station, they have a newish e-mart, and there's even a subway sandwich restaurant around here. mmm....turkey sub....anyway, it's also walking distance to gasan digital complex, which is where koreans go to buy clothes that are marked down 75%, but are really the same price as anywhere else. | |

				| Most parts of Guro Gu and Yeongdeungpo Gu are pretty bad I'd say.
Some parts of Dobong Gu are grim, too.

				| Seriously you guys, how can you really say any part of Seoul -- or Korea, for that matter -- is bad and another part is good? The whole country is pretty much the same where ever you go. Not good, not bad.
Compare Seoul to LA or Shanghai or London... now those other cities have some true "slums" and they have some really nice areas. I just dont see it in Seoul.
