This is my last inane post (at least for a while) as I'm leaving on Sunday! Tomorrow I need to try to buy:

- A bunch of Korean CDs (the better and more "alternative" selection the store has the better)
- school supplies and a cute Korean backpack for a kid in the U.S. I know who is starting kindergarten
- Korean-style clothes for a baby
- interesting gifts for my sister (should be easy) and brother (harder, as he only likes video games and computer stuff)
- a nice bottle of Korean liquor (maybe poktanju?) for my parents, and perhaps some jewelry for my mom

I also need to hit up a bookstore for a Korean academic book I need.

And finally: does anyone know where I can get bandanas/shirts/bags etc. with the Seoul subway map on them?

I am guessing that Dongdaemun or Namdaemun is the best place to go, but is there a big bookstore and a good CD store nearby?

Also, which subway stop and exit to get off at Doota in Dongdaemun? I find the place overwhelming...

Thanks!

This, I think, you will have a rather hard time finding. This time last year I rushed to find a Korean-style outfit for my sister's baby, but to no avail...

Rather, I stumbled into a Korean hand-made crafts store and found a really cute "Sleeping Korean Babies Crib Mobile". Only 30,000 won, and a great gift for an infant, I think. You might want to consider something like this... check out the craft shops in your area, if you know of any. Good luck!

I don't know of any craft stores...but there is a market not far away. Might a market area have craft stores?
